Based on your discussions and the results of your risk tolerance questionnaire, you will complete a KYC (Know You Client) questionnaire, which reflects your risk tolerance.  Your advisor will put together mutual funds which are suitable to the KYC questionnaire.  Your advisor is familiar with all the different types of mutual fund and investment styles of the mutual fund managers.  There are over 9,500 mutual funds available in Canada.  Your advisor will also be able to explain how to invest tax-efficiently.  When saving for retirement, your advisor will explain the retirement risk zone and strategies to protect against this exposure.
